Wellness Festival Singapore

This is my 3rd year running nutrition workshops for Wellness Festival Singapore but this year’s session was a little different from the rest. It featured Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) class conducted by Coach Sul from SUL academy and it definitely hit differently (no pun intended!).

It was thrilling to see so much action throughout the 3-day workshop but the most valuable takeaway was the useful self-defense tips from the coach himself:

☝🏼 If you’re in danger, don’t shout “help”. Call out “FIRE” instead. People are more likely to respond to that (I hope…!)

☝🏼 If you’re not confident fighting, carry a tub of Vicks in your bag. If you sense danger, take some Vicks on your finger, ready to smear it on the other person’s eye area. Ooh dat burn.

☝🏼 If you’re being followed and no one is around (i.e. in a carpark), don’t continue walking. Don’t run either. It’s likely that the person will corner you. Instead, turn around and confront the person early: “👉🏼 are you following me?

Whilst I may have not gone onto the mat for the BJJ session, it was still a joy to impart my knowledge and passion for everything nutrition across this 3-day session.

To top it all off, we ended the session with a well-deserved treat:
Rainforest Hydration - an açaí smoothie, specially curated by myself and Chef Jose from Classic Fine Foods using açaí puree from Sambazon.

If you’re curious to hear more about the types of workshops we run, get in touch here to find out. I’d be happy to share more!
