UOB

I had the honour of hosting UOB’s prestigious 42nd Painting of the Year Awards Ceremony recently. The UOB Painting of the Year award is the longest running art competition in Singapore, and one of the most recognised art competitions in Southeast Asia.

I love that this year’s entries has a focus on sustainability as part of the artist’s social commentary to the world. The UOB Southeast Asian Painting of the Year by Pratchaya Zahrensook, titled ‘Chumphuun Estuary’ is one of these notable works. She collected microplastics from a once-pristine Sehree Beach near her hometown to raise awareness of the hidden hazards of toxic microplastics and its impact.

You can watch the full ceremony here.
