Swapping 101

Swap, don’t shop!
The average person buys 60% more clothing items and keeps them for half as long as they did 15 years ago. When they’ve grown bored or tired of the clothes, it simply goes into the bin (i.e. landfill!).

Many resources like water and CO2 have gone into producing clothes, yet we buy them without even thinking twice about how much we really need each piece, or how many times we’d be wearing them.

Aside from shopping more consciously (supporting sustainable and ethical brands, avoiding synthetic material, buying what you need, etc) we can also reduce our carbon footprint by SWAPPING instead of SHOPPING! Believe it or not, 80% of clothing that people tend to grow bored of are still in mint condition!

Check out this video to see how you can get involved in swapping, and all the cool pieces you can get from The Fashion Pulpit by doing so!
